So that the possible may arise,
the impossible must always
be attempted.

Hermann Hesse
I am a researcher with a keen interest in the areas of political economics, public finance, and international economics, especially as they relate to issues in development. In my doctoral research I focused on the incentives for governments to accumulate public debt before elections. I remain intrigued by the determinants of fiscal policy, especially in election years. Yet my interests have increasingly broadened to include other areas, such as the ins and outs of investment climate reform, the linkages between economic growth and job creation, and the role of foreign investment in Africa.
This website is intended to provide you with an overview of my published and ongoing research in public finance and broader international development. I have made most papers, at different drafting stages, available on the Social Science Research Network for public perusal. You can also find a brief background about myself.
